Just who will become the new stig?

Ben Collins has quit Top Gear (as we all know so well) and is now working on Fifth Gear. Something about him doing this has really killed the "magic of the stig" for me.

He complained how he could never speak and know-one knew who is was.

Well, in my eyes, he had one of the coolest jobs and even bragging rights (to trustworthy people). Something he obviously grew tired of.

Who will be the new Stig of Top Gear?

James May has already spoken of a new stig on the way. This coupled with Jeremy Clarson's new advertisement (in the Sun newspaper) looking for a new stig, clearly tells us the stig will live on!

Excerpt from Clarkson's funny newspaper ad:

"The  successful applicant need not speak English, or indeed any language at  all, but he or she must hate Boy Scouts, be able to punch a horse to the  ground, have eyes that blink sideways and, most important of all,  understand that no one, under any circumstances, should ever rat on  their friends."

Recently bookmakers have been speculating the new identity of the stig.

Some say...a female driver will take up the new position as the stig. 

There has be talk of Vicki Butler Henderson taking over as "The Stig". A pipe dream it may be but there is no question that she has excellent skills as a driver and as a Top Gear rival, someone the public may never suspect.

Well, the stig has won his court case and he is free to write his new book.

Some say...it is a shame he has been officially outed...

I know we all knew the true identity of the stig (you heard it here first) but do you feel cheated? disappointed? The Stig was always a mystery on Top Gear and even though we knew it was Ben Collins, it was never set in stone and it kept the magic alive.

What are your thoughts?

The Stigs New Book - Discussion!

Right, well we have all been watching the news recently and have noticed that the stig (who is the stig?) has been getting quite a lot of media attention regarding his future book.

The Stig is writing a book?

Well rumour has it, the stig will be writing a book about his Top Gear fiascos and high speed driving (in great...and bad cars).

Obviously this has caused a controversial debate between the Stig and the BBC bigwigs. Talk of legal action on the BBC's part has been speculated.

BBC bosses have gotten the Stig in one big huff!

So when is the stigs book out?

Answer: probably not, unless he wants to cause a large court case between himself and the BBC.

What will the Stigs new book be about?

Answer: His time as "the Stig" of course. Everybody who is a keen fan of Top Gear knows what the Stig does!

If the Stig writes the book, will this be the end of the Stig?

Answer: I think we all know the answer to this one (no!) but we can never say never.

Who is the Stig from Top Gear? (or WAS)

Are you itching to know the answer to the question: "Who is the stig from Top Gear?"

The true identity of the Stig has always been kept a secret by the Top Gear producers. Donning a helmet and white suit to keep people guessing: who is the stig?

Well, here you go...this is the CURRENT [24/05/2010] stig, made famous by driving for Top Gear.

is the Stig

Colins recently gave away his alter ego after a chat with Simon Whitehead from the Bristol Gallery. He wanted a custom made print of the "Stig in action".

Edit: Thanks to a recent comment, we now have a close up of Ben Collins as the stig. At a recent photoshoot in London UK, the stigs eyes were seen through his helmet, exposing his true identity.

If you look at these two photos carefully you will see the resemblances.

Similarities:

- Bens blue eyes
- His sweeping eyebrows
- General facial similarities

Other comparisons were made to Tiff Needell and Damon Hill where there was no facial comparison whatsoever.

Summary: The truth is, Top Gear most likely use different "stigs" on different episodes, all depending on what car and what country thay are in. All that aside, Ben Collins has been exposed as "one of" the stigs running upto and beyond 2010.

Michael Schumacher is not the Stig

The recent unvailing of the Stig on Top Gear. Did they fake Michael Schumacher as the stig?

Update: We all know now 100% that Michael was not the main stig. Some say...Michael did feature on Top Gear as the stig on a handfull of occasions. Which episodes? know-one will ever know...
